The Greater Fort Worth Builders Association is proud to announce that Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) has been named the beneficiary of the 21st Annual Kaleidoscope of Homes® to be held in the gated community of Montserrat West Fort Worth Estates September 3 – 25. The announcement was made by Shane Golden, 2011 chairman, who added, “We are especially pleased that we can support this incredible charity as they celebrate their 90th year of caring for children.”
According to Stephanie Brigger, Vice President, Development for TSRHC, “We are thrilled to have been selected once again as the beneficiary of this spectacular event, and we look forward to building our relationship with the Association, and continuing to share our story.”
In 1921, a group of Texas Masons approached Dallas’ first orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. W.B. Carrell, about caring for children with polio regardless of the family’s ability to pay. That meeting grew into a mission and TSRHC was established. Since that time, TSRHC has touched the lives of more than 200,000 children and has become one of the most highly ranked pediatric orthopaedic hospitals in the country, in addition to treating certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia.
Golden continues, “This year’s show will feature show homes priced from $850,000 by some of the area’s finest custom home builders, including Glendarroch Homes LLC, HGC Residential Development and Village Homes. We also have a lot of entertainment venues, including an Idea Pavilion, a Builder Playhouse designed from drawings by TSRHC patients, and a children’s art exhibit that depicts their dream rooms, all of which will help raise additional funds for the hospital.”
